A Touch of Spring

On several perfect days a year, I love Florida. I dream of Vermont or the Great Northwest, but just every now and then it is perfect right here! The morning is beautiful and cool with that feel of growing things moving beneath the earth.

Last year at this time I made a shawl for my daughter. I wanted her to have something new and fresh to wear on Easter Morning. Being in Florida, I like to use light weight wools and of course silk. This is an imported 100%  hand dyed silk. The silk was treated with acid dyes that show lovely pure color but with a restrained hand for Spring.

This makes me dream of dye pots and the lovely quarter round wool waiting in the studio. These are the five skein 20gm Mini Packs for swapping with friends or any 100 gm project. So I am excited to dive in!

As promised I have commitments from some wonderful designers in both knitting and crochet for up coming features and photo’s. Comeback soon for to more positive thoughts and new Creative people !

I have been an artistic crafter since childhood. From simple potholders, I progressed to sewing, knitting, weaving, and crochet. I supported myself for some years as a musician and song writer. In short my life has been centered on the celebration of creativity. My newest passion is dyeing. I have setup a dye and design studio to compliment my love of all thing crochet and fiber. My experience in the creative arts has taught me a true appreciation for the talent and drive of all artists. Unlike the entertainment field, many fiber artists work in relative isolation, crafting things of beauty with only the recognition of their loved ones. Ravelry is a powerful resource linking artists and crafters from all over the word to share knowledge, patterns, talent and fibers. The Creative Life is a Celebration of those artists and fiber crafts. Our features will bring you closer to pattern designers, dye artists and crafters from all over the world! Robin
